winter wurst/worst weiss
39th Street Gallery
Brentwood, MD
2010

This project involved the temporary transferring of my studio environment into the project space, where I fabricated, installed and performed new works in front, of and alongside, the gallery audience. In effect, I exposed portions of how the proverbial sausage of my studio practice is made, referenced in the ‘wurst’ of the exhibition title. Other references for work produced included the month of February being the traditional time for the curing and casing of sausage, and the coinciding of this project with three other chronologically ritualized events: the Vancouver Winter Olympics, the America’s Cup yacht race, and the American Super Bowl.
